Michael and Nancy Jane Morizio

Serving the Lord in the Eurasia Region

Bio

Michael and Nancy Jane Morizio serve the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) in Eurasia, based in Italy.

Michael is the associate regional business manager for Eurasia. He works closely with the Eurasia regional business manager and the Eurasia regional director. He helps support the practical needs of all LCMS missionaries serving in this region and works with local church partners on short and long-term mission projects.

Michael and Nancy Jane plan the annual Eurasia missionary retreat. They also support the new confessional Lutheran church plant in Rome, Christus Victor Lutheran Church, which they planted with two local Roman men who are now studying to be Lutheran pastors. Michael has participated in various liturgy translation projects and has helped translate Lutheran hymns into Italian.

Michael’s hometown is Waltham, Mass. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford; a Master of Music degree from the Boston Conservatory; and a Master of Business Administration degree from Bentley University. Michael has worked in executive leadership roles for various global enterprises. He also was owner and CEO of a number of start-up companies before serving in Eurasia. A trained musician, singer and composer, Michael also worked as a freelance (baritone) opera singer.

Nancy Jane’s hometown is Atlanta, Ga. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Wheaton College. She also studied at Circle in the Square Theatre School. She has worked as a senior research assistant and data manager, a drama teacher and a freelance opera singer before serving as a missionary. Nancy Jane also is an internationally licensed tour director, and she worked with Michael to run AbruzzoPresto, Inc., a private touring business in Italy.

The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod Inc., including Mission Central (in Mapleton, Iowa), is an IRS registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity.

A contribution designated (restricted) for a specific purpose, when accepted, will be used only to fund expenses related to that purpose. Occasionally, we may receive more in contributions for a particular purpose than can be wisely applied to it in the foreseeable future or the purpose may cease to be feasible. In these situations, the LCMS will make reasonable attempts to contact contributors to apply their contribution toward another aspect of ministry that aligns closely the contributor’s goals and values. If a contributor cannot be contacted, the LCMS will use the gift to meet a similar pressing need that most closely matches the contributor's original intent.

Consistent with Synod Board policy and in recognition of a more challenging economic and philanthropic/fundraising environment due to inflationary pressure, not more than 13.5 percent of any charitable contribution will be allocated to administering gifts and communicating with contributors. Contributions received and accepted by the LCMS are deemed to be in agreement with this statement.
