Bio
The Rev. Roberto and Kathryn (Katie) Weber serve the Lord as career missionaries through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) in the Dominican Republic. In this role, Roberto teaches at Concordia the Reformer Seminary in Palmar Arriba and serves as a pastor at a mission station in Santiago. He also brings along seminarians to Santiago to mentor them in pastoral practice.
Roberto was born in Maciá, Entre Ríos, Argentina. He studied humanities and social sciences in Argentina, and then went on to receive a degree in theology from Concordia Seminary, Buenos Aires. Roberto served his vicarage alongside LCMS missionaries in the Dominican Republic (2011–2013). He then was a parish pastor in Argentina (2015–2023), while also serving as an instructor at Concordia the Reformer Seminary in the Dominican Republic (2018–present) and as associate editor for the region’s VDMA Project (2019–present). In his free time, Roberto enjoys writing and translating hymns, gardening, and working on cars.
Katie (née Ziegler) is from Omaha, Neb., and her home congregation is First Lutheran Church in Papillion, Omaha, Neb. Katie holds an associate degree in restaurant management from Metropolitan Community College, Omaha; a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Concordia University, Nebraska, Seward, Neb.; and a master’s degree in theological studies and deaconess arts from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Ind. Katie worked as a baker and pastry chef (2006–2010) before serving as a missionary in the Dominican Republic (2012–2015), where she met her husband. Katie is the author of Never Forsaken: God’s Mercy in the Midst of Miscarriage, available from Concordia Publishing House. Katie and Roberto have three children. In her free time, Katie enjoys arts, crafts and the culinary arts.

Please pray for the Weber family as they serve in the Dominican Republic. Ask God to help them adjust to life in the Dominican Republic and to give them joy as they share the Gospel with many who have never heard it before. Let us give thanks that the Webers are serving God’s children in this part of the world.
