Vicar Paul and Courtney Mroczenski

Vicar

Serving the Lord in Puerto Rico

Bio

Vicar Paul Mroczenski serves the Lord in Puerto Rico, where he is spending his vicarage before returning to Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Ind., to complete his fourth year of seminary. In this role, Paul serves under the supervision of the Rev. James Neuendorf, missionary to Puerto Rico. Paul’s primary responsibility is to teach and preach at various churches and sites in both Spanish and English. Paul also assists with church planting and other evangelism and mercy work efforts.

Paul was born in Athens, Wis. After graduating from high school, Paul served as a volunteer for ten months in Baton Rouge, La., through the Lutheran Young Adult Corps program (LYAC). He then earned his Bachelor of Arts in theological languages, with minors in philosophy and youth ministry, from Concordia University Wisconsin, Mequon, Wis. Paul enjoys fishing, playing board games, and watching Wisconsin Badger basketball and football.

Courtney was born in Torrance, Calif., and calls Aurora, Co. home. After high school, she also served as a LYAC volunteer in New Orleans. She attended Colorado State University and studied social work. After college, she worked as a case manager at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, and as a memory care support specialist at Bethlehem Woods Nursing Facility in Fort Wayne. Courtney enjoys gardening and caring for house plants, reading, and playing board games.

Prayers

Please pray for the Mroczenski family as they serve in Puerto Rico. Pray that they may learn Spanish quickly and thoroughly. Give thanks to the Lord for the safe arrival of a healthy baby girl, and pray for peace and provision as they adjust to being a family of three in a new place. Pray that the Lord will bless Paul as he teaches and preaches God’s Word, that all may come to saving faith in Jesus Christ.

The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod Inc., including Mission Central (in Mapleton, Iowa), is an IRS registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity.

A contribution designated (restricted) for a specific purpose, when accepted, will be used only to fund expenses related to that purpose. Occasionally, we may receive more in contributions for a particular purpose than can be wisely applied to it in the foreseeable future or the purpose may cease to be feasible. In these situations, the LCMS will make reasonable attempts to contact contributors to apply their contribution toward another aspect of ministry that aligns closely the contributor’s goals and values. If a contributor cannot be contacted, the LCMS will use the gift to meet a similar pressing need that most closely matches the contributor's original intent.

Consistent with Synod Board policy and in recognition of a more challenging economic and philanthropic/fundraising environment due to inflationary pressure, not more than 13.5 percent of any charitable contribution will be allocated to administering gifts and communicating with contributors. Contributions received and accepted by the LCMS are deemed to be in agreement with this statement.
