Vicar Jesse Liebmann

Serving the Lord in Romania

Bio

Vicar Jesse Liebmann serves the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) in Brașov, Romania. As a vicar on the international mission field, Jesse assists in ongoing evangelism and outreach activities; helps provide pastoral care; and is active in many aspects of congregational life, such as visitation, catechesis, preaching, liturgy, music and the mentorship of lay leadership. Jesse also focuses on reaching out to the Ukrainian refugee community using his Russian language skills.

Jesse’s hometown is Eureka, Mo., and his home congregation is St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Eureka. He has a bachelor’s degree in Russian and Political Science from Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo., and he is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. Prior to serving in Romania, Jesse worked in a variety of jobs, including as a substitute teacher, summer camp counselor, salesman and waiter. He has taken several short-term mission trips with his congregation to Guatemala and a Navajo reservation in the United States, and he spent a summer studying Russian language, culture and history in Moscow, Russia. In his spare time, Jesse enjoys following the St. Louis Cardinals, studying history and singing.

Prayers

Pray for Jesse as he serves in Romania. Ask God to give him good health and safety, and to help him adjust to life in a new country. Pray also for the people that Jesse meets, especially the Ukrainian refugees in Brașov, that their hearts would be open to hearing the message of Jesus Christ. Give thanks to God that Jesse is serving God’s children in this part of the world.

The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod Inc., including Mission Central (in Mapleton, Iowa), is an IRS registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity.

A contribution designated (restricted) for a specific purpose, when accepted, will be used only to fund expenses related to that purpose. Occasionally, we may receive more in contributions for a particular purpose than can be wisely applied to it in the foreseeable future or the purpose may cease to be feasible. In these situations, the LCMS will make reasonable attempts to contact contributors to apply their contribution toward another aspect of ministry that aligns closely the contributor’s goals and values. If a contributor cannot be contacted, the LCMS will use the gift to meet a similar pressing need that most closely matches the contributor's original intent.

Consistent with Synod Board policy and in recognition of a more challenging economic and philanthropic/fundraising environment due to inflationary pressure, not more than 13.5 percent of any charitable contribution will be allocated to administering gifts and communicating with contributors. Contributions received and accepted by the LCMS are deemed to be in agreement with this statement.
