Vicar Peter Williams

Missionary

Serving the Lord in Germany

Bio

Vicar Peter Williams serves the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) as a missionary in Kaiserslautern, Germany. As a vicar in the international mission field, Peter assists the lead pastor of Kaiserslautern Evangelical Lutheran Church, which serves U.S. military members stationed in the area as well as other English speakers. Peter is involved in several parish activities, including preaching, teaching and visiting members of the church. He also is active in regional mission work, especially in the French and Farsi languages.

Peter is from San José, Calif., where his home congregation is First Immanuel Lutheran Church. He has a bachelor’s degree in French and history from San José State University and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne. Prior to serving in Germany, Peter worked in the Parks and Recreation Department for the City of San José and in after-school care at the French American School of Silicon Valley in Cupertino, Calif. Peter is also a chaplain candidate in the U.S. Army Reserves. In his free time, Peter enjoys reading and playing baseball and soccer.

Prayers

Pray for Peter as he serves in Germany. Pray for patience and guidance as he learns many new things and takes on many new responsibilities. Ask God to give him wisdom and safety as he adjusts to life in this new country. Pray also that the Holy Spirit would work through Peter as he shares the Gospel with everyone he meets. Give thanks to God for sending Peter to serve His children in this part of the world.

The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod Inc., including Mission Central (in Mapleton, Iowa), is an IRS registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity.

A contribution designated (restricted) for a specific purpose, when accepted, will be used only to fund expenses related to that purpose. Occasionally, we may receive more in contributions for a particular purpose than can be wisely applied to it in the foreseeable future or the purpose may cease to be feasible. In these situations, the LCMS will make reasonable attempts to contact contributors to apply their contribution toward another aspect of ministry that aligns closely the contributor’s goals and values. If a contributor cannot be contacted, the LCMS will use the gift to meet a similar pressing need that most closely matches the contributor's original intent.

Consistent with Synod Board policy and in recognition of a more challenging economic and philanthropic/fundraising environment due to inflationary pressure, not more than 13.5 percent of any charitable contribution will be allocated to administering gifts and communicating with contributors. Contributions received and accepted by the LCMS are deemed to be in agreement with this statement.
