2019 LCMS Convention Servant Event
The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod
10 a.m.–noon Eastern time • Saturday, July 20 • Tampa Convention Center
Members of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod will be “Joy:fully Serving” our neighbors during a servant event from 10 a.m.–noon Eastern time on Saturday, July 20, inside the main entrance of the Tampa Convention Center.
Registration is closed.
Volunteers will package 275 baskets of mother and baby items for two LCMS Recognized Service Organizations.
• Redeeming Life Outreach Ministries in Sanford, Fla., operates a maternity home and transitional living for young, pregnant women and their children.
• Amigos en Cristo in Immokalee, Fla., provides social services to the migrant and immigrant community, many of whom are in crisis and need assistance to build a solid foundation for a better future.
Because of generous support from event sponsors and contributors, volunteers will be able to package:
- Baby wellness baskets — diaper cream, thermometers, towels, hand mittens, etc.
- Mom care baskets — nail polish, lotion, manicure sets, umbrellas, etc.
- Household items baskets — kitchen towels, crib sheets, spatulas, mixing bowls, etc.
- Spiritual care baskets — Bibles, catechisms, devotional books, children’s books
A free box lunch with a sandwich, chips, cookie, fruit and soda/water will be provided by Thrivent Financial.
